Changing brushes while using the Photo Painting Palettes

The Photo Painting Palettes in Corel® Painter™ IX.5 let you create digital art based on based on a photo. You can use the Bristle Brush Cloner, which is the default brush variant, or you can choose another variant from the Cloners brush category. Alternatively, you can choose any brush that applies media and use it as a cloner.

Before you change brushes, you must open the image you want to clone and then click the Quick Clone button on the Underpainting palette.

To choose a different variant from the Cloners brush category

  1. After adjusting your image on the Underpainting palette, click the Quick Clone button.

  2. On the Brush Selector bar, click the Brush Variant arrow, and choose a brush variant.

The Cloners brush category contains more than 40 variants.

To turn a brush variant into a cloner

  1. After adjusting your image on the Underpainting palette, click the Quick Clone button.

  2. On the Brush Selector bar, click the Brush Category arrow, and choose a brush category.



  3. Click the Brush Variant arrow, and choose a variant.



  4. On the Colors palette, click the Clone Color button.



  5. Click File menu > Clone Source, and choose the image that you are cloning.
