Corel Painter Master - Karen Sperling
Biography Karen Sperling wrote the first Painter manual when the program debuted in 1991. She went on to write the manuals for the next several versions of Painter and wrote several published Painter books. Karen digitally publishes the Artistry Tips and Tricks e-zine, containing step-by-step Painter tutorials, in addition to her Artistry tutorials on CDs and as downloadable files. Karen's Painter tutorials have appeared in many publications including SBS Design, PEI magazine, Professional Photographers magazine and Rangefinder. Karen is a featured columnist for Professional Photographer and Corel. Karen has taught Painter for over 15 years all over the United States at companies such as Disney and American Greetings, and at institutions including the New School for Social Research in New York. She has given talks and demonstrations about Painter at American Film Institute, Macworld, Seybold, SIGGRAPH, Professional Photographers of America and WPPI. She also teaches Painter at her Artistry Retreats. Karen recently began creating abstract art both in Painter and with traditional media, and she has associations with galleries in Los Angeles, New York and London. Her figurative work created in Painter, including portraits and landscapes, has been featured in several gallery group shows and is held in private collections around the world.
