Suite-wide fixes

  • Since WordPerfect Office 2002, the suite has used Kodak Color Management for managing the color profiles used when importing or exporting graphics (or when publishing graphics to PDF). With this Service Pack, WordPerfect Office X5 switches to an open-source color management system (LCMS).
  • The Conversion Utility now opens its Help file correctly on Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
  • In some circumstances, WordPerfect Office applications were not showing as open on the Windows Taskbar. (This issue is now resolved.)
  • References to WordPerfect Office X4 have been updated in the following macros: mastconv.wcm, wp_pr.wcm, wp_org.wcm, and pr_wp.wcm.
  • "File > Send to > Fax recipient" now works on the Windows 7 operating system. (Windows 7 required a different calling method.)
  • Added are the missing registry entries that were preventing COM automation from working. (PerfectScript 15.0 - PerfectScript.PerfectScript)
  • The Insert > Graphic/Pictures command now works even after Publishing to PDF. (This was an issue on multi-core systems.)
  • You can now customize the location of the "WordPerfect Office" Start Menu entries without having them recreated at their default location.
  • JPG images containing the "Orientation" EXIF tag can now be successfully inserted into WordPerfect and Presentations.
  • On multi-monitor systems, WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, and Presentations now recall the monitor on which they were positioned at exit. If the application is not positioned on-screen at exit (such as when a monitor is disconnected), it will be re-positioned on-screen at next launch.
  • In the Web view of the File | Open dialog box, the "Add Favorite" option now allows for the Favorite name to be customized upon creation.
  • Microsoft Office file-type associations are no longer lost when WordPerfect Office X5 is uninstalled.
  • In limited-user mode on Windows XP, object-access failures are no longer written to the Windows security log or the Event Viewer.
  • In the Enhanced File | Open dialog box, the on/off state of the Preview pane remembers its state even when the application is closed.
  • The stability of folder selection in the folder-tree view of the Enhanced File Dialog has been improved by adding checks for incompatible third-party application extensions to Windows Explorer. The folder-tree view can be toggled in the Open, Save, and Save As dialog boxes and is always shown for folder-selection versions of the dialog box (example: Backup Folder selection).
  • You can now copy text displayed in the Preview pane of the Enhanced File | Open dialog box.

WordPerfect fixes

  • For the Greeting Card template (GretCdWP.wpt), changing the front cover graphic via the PerfectExpert panel now works as expected.
  • The File Open filter has been reverted to "All Files (*.*)".
  • The Document switcher now displays template filenames.
  • SharePoint integration has been extended to include HTTPS and FTP (in addition to the existing support for HTTP).
  • Integration with Interwoven 8.2.2 Desk Cite is fixed.
  • Links to files (example: file://c:/users/{username}/Desktop/filename.wpd) now work as expected.
  • Instability no longer occurs if the Interwoven ODMA dialog box is open when the computer is locked and then unlocked.
  • A long delay no longer occurs when the date is inserted (Ctrl + D) into a non-empty table cell. Also addressed are the long delays that occur on some computers when text is added to tables.
  • The alignment and spacing of Unicode text in certain imported PDFs has been fixed.
  • Third-party DLLs now load correctly when WordPerfect is loaded via OLE Automation. (WordPerfect.PerfectScript)
  • A custom tray set via Page Definition no longer affects the tray used for subsequent pages or documents opened during the same session of WordPerfect.
  • Microsoft Word files containing the Calibri font no longer import as Calibri Bold.
  • When Microsoft Word 2010 files are imported, text boxes are no longer duplicated.
  • When a document containing multiple images is exported to DOCX format, a "conversion initialization failed" message no longer occurs if Microsoft Office 2010 is installed.
  • Exported DOC files that contain multiple text boxes or graphics no longer invoke an error message when opened in Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010.
  • Publishing to PDF/A-1a no longer displays major preflight errors in Adobe Acrobat 9.
  • The Full and All justification options now print correctly with OpenType and Type 1 fonts.
  • Updated with Web Service and Document Management functions are the WordPerfect.PerfectScript and WordPerfect.PerfectScript.15 named interfaces (Visual Basic, Visual Basic For Applications, Delphi) and the IWPPerfectScript (C++) interface in the WordPerfect 15.0 Type Library.
  • Web Service return data now correctly maintains accented characters.
  • In the Insert | Spreadsheet/Database | Import dialog box, the Spreadsheet data type now supports the XLSX file format by means of the Microsoft Compatibility Pack.
  • A MAPI error no longer appears each time the Address Book is started on Windows 7 computers that do not have a MAPI client installed. Instead of checking for a MAPI client by attempting to initialize MAPI, the Address Book now checks for registry keys that are written by any MAPI-compliant email program.
  • The Web Service feature has been enhanced by fixing some namespace-compatibility problems, improving prefix usage, and adding a diagnostic.

Quattro Pro fixes

  • Launching the Map Expert from the PerfectExpert panel no longer causes instabilities on Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
  • Instability no longer results from copying an entire sheet by holding down the Ctrl key and dragging a sheet containing joined cells.

Presentations fixes

  • Accessing the Show On The Go "Browse for Folder" dialog box on Windows 7 no longer causes instability.
  • The Show It! Plug-in now successfully installs for Internet Explorer.
